Privacy Policy

Argentum Pharmaceuticals (Argentum) is committed to protecting your privacy and to preserving your trust in our handling of your personal information. This is very important to us. Argentum goes to great lengths to protect the privacy and security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of the information you provide to us, Argentum has put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard all of the information we collect from you on our website.

Argentum does not collect personally identifiable information through its website except for information that you voluntarily decide to provide. Such information will be used only for its intended purpose, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of submission.

What type of information does Argentum collect?
Argentum collects anonymous or non-personally identifiable information, such as data-tracking the use of our website and user demographic information, and may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name and address. Argentum only collects personally identifiable information on its website from persons who choose voluntarily to give us this information.

For instance, if you submit an information request form on our website through our “contact” page, this page requires personally identifiable information such as: first name, last name, and e-mail address. Information requests submitted through our “contact” page are done so voluntarily by the submitter.

How does Argentum collect information?
Argentum collects information on its website in two ways: through direct user input, when the user voluntarily provides us with information through web forms, or through web server logs.

What does Argentum do with the information it collects?
Argentum only uses the information it collects for the specific purpose for which it was gathered. We only use anonymous or demographic information to track the use of our website and to improve our website’s function and content. Argentum does not collect personally identifiable information through its website except for information that you voluntarily decide to provide. Such information will be used only for its intended purpose, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of submission. Argentum stores all personally identifiable information in a secure fashion. Only a limited number of employees within Argentum have access to personally identifiable information on our web server or in our databases. These employees access and use personally identifiable information for the sole purpose of performing their job responsibilities. It is our policy not to disclose any personally identifiable information to any third party, except as explained above. Anonymous or non-personally identifiable information is kept in a separate database on our web server. This type of information is collected from our web server logs and is stored and maintained in a secure location on our web server. Aggregate information derived from the server logs is made available only to personnel inside the company, and to federal government agencies or third parties only as required by law. Further, we may occasionally use cookies to track a user’s visit on our website, but we do not engage in any online web site advertising such as banner advertising from various advertisement placement companies. In the event we do use cookies, they are used solely to enhance the user experience of our website—not to save or access personal information. If we need to use cookies for other purposes, it will be plainly stated before the cookie is initiated. If you would like more information about cookies, please consult your browser’s help function.

What is a web server log?
Argentum maintains web server logs that record data about visitors to our website. No personally identifiable information is recorded in our logs. Web server logs contain the following information:

  • Date and time of visit
  • Pages viewed during a specific visit
  • Type or brand of browser
  • Web site visited immediately prior to visiting Argentum’s site
  • IP address of the computer used to access our web site

(An IP address is assigned to your computer whenever you connect to the Internet. The IP address is given to the different web servers as you enter that website in order to identify your computer for that visit. The IP address is different each time a user shuts down the computer, restarts, and then visits the website again.) We do not use web server logs to discern or identify individuals, except if required by law. Instead, we use web server logs to analyze traffic, to help improve our website, and to reach new and potential applicants for our clinical trials.

How will I know if Argentum changes its privacy policy?
If it becomes necessary through a change in our policies, business practices or through legislative or other legal requirements to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes here on our website.

What about links from the Argentum site to other websites?

The Argentum website contains links to several other websites. Please be aware that Argentum is not responsible for the privacy practices of sites other than its own. The privacy policy listed above applies only to the Argentum website. If you would like additional general information regarding privacy on the Internet, you may visit the United States Federal Trade Commission’s website at http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/index.html.
